Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is a colorless and odorless gas that can be recovered from various natural and industrial sources.
It is usually collected as a by-product in the exhaust streams generated during fermentation processes, lime kilns, natural carbon dioxide springs, as well as in chemical and petrochemical manufacturing processes.
Commercially available carbon dioxide can also be captured and purified from the exhaust gases emitted by power plants.
